The primary consumption sector for color-coated sheets in China remains the construction industry, accounting for 85%-90% of total consumption. From the perspective of the construction market, the use of steel sheets in China's construction sector has been steadily increasing, and the proportion of color-coated sheets in construction steel sheet usage has also been rising year by year.

With increasing awareness, color-coated sheets have gained more recognition from users. For example, in 1995, China's construction sector consumed approximately 150,000T of color-coated sheets, but by 2000, this figure exceeded 750,000T. The main consumption of color-coated sheets in construction is concentrated in economically prosperous regions for industrial buildings and urban landmark structures. While civil construction has not yet shown substantial growth, it has already exhibited a trend of increasing consumption.

As China continues its halted western development and accelerates urbanization, the construction industry is expected to enter a period of rapid expansion in the next 20 years. The main growth directions will include residential steel structures, high-rise steel structures, and lightweight steel structures.

It is projected that the demand for color-coated sheets in China's construction sector will grow by over 15% in the next decade. Currently, about 85% of color-coated sheets used in construction are sandwich panels and corrugated sheets, which primarily adopt 0.5MM and smaller specifications to increase surface area and reduce user transportation costs. The markets with the highest demand and fastest growth for color-coated sheets are prefabricated houses and factory buildings, which require high strength and excellent corrosion resistance. Medium-sized specifications for doors and windows also hold a certain market share in China, demanding good bending resistance. Thicker sheets are mainly used for large-span structures like aircraft hangars, exhibition halls, and large factory buildings.
